In 3D measurement using strip light, a line grid is projected onto the measurement object with a projector and deformed by the object geometry. The resulting deviation from the ideal line is recorded by two stereo cameras and the individual 3D coordinates are then calculated using a triangulation process. In order to fully capture a measurement object, it is often necessary to link several scans. This is usually done by applying additional marks or using the “best-fit” method.
