Punjab Education Minister warns people against falling prey to fraudsters promising free smartphones and be aware.

The ministers launched various schemes and also provided smartphones under the scheme only for class 12 government school students.  The minister makes people aware to not click on any URL, sent through SMS or WhatsApp.  He declared that this scheme is only for people studying. Hence, the people don’t need to register for free smartphones under the Punjab Smart Connect Scheme, state’s Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla MLA. He cautioned people against online fraud.

 It is for social issue messages being circulated that carry a picture of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh under the title “Captain Smartphone Distribution Scheme 2020”.  The message is circulated along with an online registration form. He clarified about the scheme, which he may extend to others, does not arise and is for only Class 12 government school students.

Hence, the minister launched the scheme to provide smartphones under the free scheme based on their enrollment.   He is aware of the public taking exception to the messages circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. Vijay inder singh created social awareness among people that the government has not launched any website for registration under the scheme.

  He also described that Cheats would face dire consequences under cybercrime prevention laws.   He also states that caution and giving awareness to people that clicking on such links could cause many issues. It leads to phishing attacks, giving cyber-criminals control of people’s devices and financial information.

Vijay inder singla MLA has urged people to immediately delete such messages and not to rely on such information, instead of forwarding them to others. Moreover, he assured people that it is right that the Congress-led Punjab government had rolled out the free smartphone scheme. But the same has been done for the state’s youth – a poll promise. He said Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh launched the 92 crore “Punjab Smart Connection Scheme ”. The scheme is launched on the occasion of Janmashtami and International Youth Day for the youth of the public.

 He handed over smartphones to six Class 12 students as a symbolic gesture. With the amalgamation of the scheme ministers, MLAs, and others simultaneously distributed phones at 26 places to kickstart the scheme.

Yes, it is a project in which there is the installation of high-quality cameras in the villages of Sangrur constituency from  Balian village will be done.  Under the leadership of the minister, the project was launched for the first time in Punjab.  It is known as a pilot project and high-resolution cameras would be installed for the reform of the city.

These cameras work for the social public at every entry and exit point of all 87 villages. Mainly it covers the areas of Sangrur and Bhawanigarh subdivisions. He assured that after this pilot’s success, it will also run across Punjab. The project once is implemented in the Sangrur constituency, then the same structure will follow for the other cities of Punjab.
